By Tom Stapleton
“Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.”
— Daniel 12:9–10

About this book
The final events of Daniel and Revelation are happening now. Yeshua is returning, and soon. This book lays out the evidence for that fact — clearly enough that a child can understand, comprehensively enough that a serious Bible student will find new connections on every page.
Many people prefer not to study the books of Daniel and Revelation because they feel too frightening. It is true that we are entering perilous times, and there are fearful aspects to these prophecies. While God does not bring the evils that are coming on the world, He must allow them to come — to show the results of turning away from Him, so that we have the chance to turn back. God, in His infinite love, has given us free choice, and some have chosen to rebel. The result will be perilous times.
But it is the love of God that has made it necessary for Him to reveal the future to us, so that we can prepare for what is coming. He is returning soon to restore what was lost in the beginning — the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
In this book, Tom Stapleton unfolds the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation straight from today’s headlines, in full alignment with God’s appointed festival calendar. We can know in advance what is coming, so that we can take shelter before the storm.
A storm is coming. Many will perish for lack of knowledge. May you choose to be wise and understand.
The Eight-Event Roadmap
Before walking through the books verse by verse, the opening of The Wise Shall Understand lays out the eight major prophetic events still to happen before the Second Coming. This roadmap is the framework that the rest of the book unpacks in detail:
1. War between the West and Islam (Daniel 8:1–8) The opening conflict. The sign you’ll see on the evening news when it is near is found in Daniel 11:2.
2. Islam is defeated and the third temple in Jerusalem is built (Daniel 11:14) The construction stage will take some time.
3. The temple begins operation; sacrifices resume (Daniel 8:13–14, 8:23–25, 11:14, 11:30–31; Revelation 11:1–3) Meanwhile, the toll of global terrorism and nuclear war reduces the United States to a third-world nation. The remaining permanent UN Security Council members strive for world supremacy. People clamor for peace, and the little horn proposes a solution.
4. Day 1 of the final 1335-day count (Daniel 7:8, 25; 8:9; 11:15–16; Revelation 13:3–7, 17:5–6) The little horn stops the daily sacrifices and brings in a new world worship system. Persecution begins. You must be ready for 1335 days of hell on earth — which is why God has given us these prophecies in advance.
5. Days 1140 and 1150: Judgment (The Feast of Trumpets through the Day of Atonement) Day 1140 is the Feast of Trumpets, when judgment begins. The 10-day death decree of Revelation 2:10 and the five months of demons loosed from the abyss begin here. Day 1150 is the Day of Atonement — the close of judgment before the Second Coming. Yeshua is found worthy, the little horn is found guilty, and the seven last plagues begin.
6. Day 1260: The destruction of the little horn (Daniel 7:25–26, 11:40–45; Revelation 17:16–18) The little horn power receives the punishment finalized on the Day of Atonement and is destroyed by the kings of the earth. This completes her 3.5-year reign of terror — but it is about to get worse.
7. Day 1290: The Abomination of Desolation (Daniel 12:11; Matthew 24:15) With the little horn gone, Satan himself sits on the throne and stands in the Holy Place, declaring himself the returned Messiah.
8. Day 1335: The Second Coming (Revelation 20:5–6) The dead in Christ rise to their resurrection, and the living saints are delivered. The spring festival typology is fulfilled — First Passover, Firstfruits, and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb — and the millennium begins.
At the end of the millennium, the fall feasts will reach their final fulfillment.
What’s inside
The book moves chapter by chapter through Daniel and Revelation, with three opening chapters that establish the framework:
Opening framework
- God Reveals the Future — Why these books were given, and how to read them
- The Words of Yeshua — Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13 – The interpretive key for prophecy
Daniel — Twelve chapters, each receiving its own walkthrough. The major prophetic chapters (Daniel 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12) get extended treatment.
Revelation — Twenty-two chapters, each examined in turn, with attention to how Revelation’s symbols and timelines align with Daniel’s.

“I had never seen the spring and fall festivals, and the timing of the second coming and millennium, explained like this. It makes so much sense.”
About the author
Tom Stapleton came to Yeshua at the age of 25 through a Revelation seminar, and has spent the decades since studying and teaching prophecy from Scripture itself. His teaching ministry, based at Camp Tamiyd in British Columbia, weights the words of Yeshua above all other sources, and reads Daniel and Revelation through the prophetic framework of the Biblical Feasts that Yehovah Himself gave us.
Tom is the author of Restoration of God’s Festivals: An End Times Shadow Fulfillment, Reclaiming God’s Festivals: Understanding God’s Holy Ways Through God’s Holy Days, A Better Understanding of The Character of God, and (with his wife Judy) Re-Examining 1844: A Better Understanding.
The Wise Shall Understand was written by Tom with the help of Judith Koch (now Judy Stapleton), who later became his wife.
