The Daily: The Most Overlooked Appointed Time

Understanding the Prophecy

This teaching uncovers a deeply overlooked truth in Scripture: The most important appointed time in God’s calendar is not weekly or yearly — it is twice daily.

The morning and evening sacrifice (the “tamiyd” in Hebrew) forms the foundation of a living relationship with God. While many focus on the Sabbath and annual feasts, none of them function as well at forming a personal connection to God.

From Numbers 28 to the crucifixion of Yeshua, and even into Revelation, Scripture consistently shows that you cannot approach God, understand prophecy, or remain faithful without a daily morning and evening connection centered on the Lamb of God.

The tamiyd (called the “hour of prayer” in the book of Acts) is not about animal sacrifice, which ended at the cross. Instead, it is about making Yeshua our continual sacrifice and living in constant dependence on Him.

Prophetic Insights

  • The Tamiyd Is the Foundation of All Appointed Times. Numbers 28 reveals something most miss: Every feast, every Sabbath, every holy day includes this phrase, “Besides the continual (tamiyd) offering…” This means that the daily comes first, and everything else is built on it.
  • You Cannot Replace God’s Appointed Times. The teaching strongly emphasizes that God’s timing cannot be substituted with human convenience. God defines worship—not man.
  • The Daily Relationship Is the Missing Key. The real issue today is the lack of daily connection with God. Without morning and evening devotion, there is no spiritual transformation.
  • Elijah and the Power of Appointed Time. One example of how God works on his appointed daily calendar is in the story of Elijah on Mount Carmel. The false prophets worked all day while Elijah waited. Then, at the evening sacrifice, God answered with fire.
  • Daniel, Prayer, and End-Time Faithfulness. We see this again in the book of Daniel. He prayed daily (morning, noon, evening), even under threat of death. Later, we see that God sent Gabriel as an answer to one of Daniel’s prayer at the hour of the evening sacrifice (Daniel 9:21).
  • Yeshua Fulfilled both the morning and evening hours at the crucifixion. He was crucified at the third hour (morning sacrifice), there was darkness at the sixth hour (noon), and He died at the ninth hour (evening sacrifice). This shows that not only is He our Passover Lamb, He is also our daily sacrifice.
  • The New Testament Church Continued the Pattern. After the cross: The Holy Spirit descended on Pentecost at the appointed time (Acts 2:15); Peter & John went to pray at the ninth hour (Acts 3:1); and Cornelius received a vision at the ninth hour (Acts 10:3, 30)
